Offering panoramic views across the Gulf of Naples, the San Francesco al Monte is a restored 16th-century monastery. It features a seasonal panoramic garden with pool (available for an additional fee). The San Francesco is located at the foot of the hill leading to Sant'Elmo Castle and the Certosa di San Martino Museum. The hotel is a 2-minute walk from the Corso Vittorio Emanuele Funicular Railway stop. Rooms here all have views over the bay, with Mount Vesuvius in the background. They are all air conditioned and come with satellite TV, a minibar and a private bathroom with shower or bath. Breakfast is buffet style and is served in La Terrazza dei Barbanti restaurant on the 4th floor. You can also make use of Mediterranean cuisine at lunch and dinner.

4 star location with 1 star breakfast Pros: Great location, very good view. Clean. Cons: Overall the hotel needs some renovation. What made us most upset is the poor breakfast experience. Limited choice, very poor presentation, bad coffee every day. This is not a 4 star but a good start breakfast. The owners need to change that and improve significantly the breakfast experience. Invest also money in new chairs. They are dirty and old.

Posizione a 4 stelle con colazione a 1 stella Pros: Ottima posizione, vista stupenda. Pulito. Cons: Nel complesso, l'hotel necessita di qualche ristrutturazione. Ciò che ci ha deluso di più è stata la scarsa esperienza della colazione. Scelta limitata, presentazione pessima, caffè pessimo ogni giorno. Non è un 4 stelle, ma offre una buona colazione per iniziare bene la giornata. I proprietari dovrebbero cambiare le cose e migliorare significativamente l'esperienza della colazione. Investite anche in nuove sedie. Sono sporche e vecchie.
